JALPAIGURI: Thirteen individuals, alleged to be unlawful Rohingya immigrants, have been apprehended on the New Jalpaiguri railway station in north Bengal, police mentioned. Among them have been six kids and two ladies, a senior police officer mentioned.
They had arrived on the New Jalpaiguri station in two teams from New Delhi and Jammu on Friday night to catch a prepare to Assam when the Government Railway Police (GRP) noticed them, he mentioned. After questioning, they have been apprehended and a case filed beneath The Foreigners Act, he added. “They were on the way to Rohingya camps in Bangladesh, via Assam and Tripura,” the officer mentioned.
