SSC recruitment rip-off: West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee seems earlier than CBI

KOLKATA: West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee on Wednesday night appeared earlier than the CBI sleuths for questioning in reference to their probe into the SSC recruitment rip-off.

Chatterjee, at present the state’s business minister, could be questioned concerning the alleged irregularities within the appointments given by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education on suggestions by the School Service Commission (SSC), a CBI officer stated.

“He will be questioned by three CBI sleuths. We have arranged a set of specific questions for him,” the CBI officer informed PTI. Chatterjee was the schooling minister when the alleged unlawful recruitments had been made.

Earlier within the day, a division bench of the Calcutta High Court upheld orders of a single bench that directed the CBI to inquire into alleged unlawful appointments.

Immediately after the division bench order, a single bench of Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay directed Chatterjee to look earlier than the CBI at its workplace right here earlier than 6 pm on Wednesday in reference to the rip-off.
