On the event of World Music Day, AR Rahman shared a video on his YouTube channel and devoted it to singer Sukhwinder Singh. Recalling the partnership that they’ve shared for nearly 25 years, Rahman mentioned that they first collaborated for a Bulle Shah poem for the movie Thakshak, which was later modified to “Chaiyya Chaiyya” for Dil Se.
Rahman recalled that certainly one of his hottest songs, Slumdog Millionaire’s “Jai Ho” had immense contribution from Sukhwinder, however he forgot to thank the singers (Sukhwinder Singh, Tanvi Shah, Mahalaxmi Iyer and Vijay Prakash) as he acquired the Oscar trophy for the tune.
