INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY HISTORY
The idea of the International Day of Yoga was first proposed by Prime Minister Modi throughout his speech on the UN General Assembly (UNGA), on September 27, 2014. The United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 2014, introduced that June 21 shall be celebrated as International Yoga Day or World Yoga Day.
Since 2015, International Yoga Day has been celebrated on June 21 worldwide.
