The US Supreme Court on Friday overturned a landmark determination that legalised abortion within the nation.

The Supreme Court has ended constitutional protections for abortion that had been in place almost 50 years in a call by its conservative majority to overturn Roe v. Wade. Friday’s final result is predicted to result in abortion bans in roughly half the states.
The determination, unthinkable only a few years in the past, was the fruits of a long time of efforts by abortion opponents, made attainable by an emboldened proper facet of the courtroom that has been fortified by three appointees of former President Donald Trump.
The ruling got here greater than a month after the beautiful leak of a draft opinion by Justice Samuel Alito indicating the courtroom was ready to take this momentous step.
It places the courtroom at odds with a majority of Americans who favored preserving Roe, in response to opinion polls.
