NEW DELHI: As anxious college students raised grievances of admit playing cards being launched late for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2022, the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Tuesday mentioned a minimum of 98 per cent candidates showing for the examination might be allotted the examination centres within the metropolis of their alternative.
The UGC Chairman M. Jagadesh Kumar additionally introduced that the admit playing cards for Phase II college students of the examination for admission to undergraduate programmes can be issued on July 31, 2022.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), which was to launch the admit playing cards for the CUET UG for section 1 college students on Tuesday night, didn’t announce it until the time of going to press.
Kumar mentioned the admit playing cards had been launched 4 days earlier than the examination attributable to safety causes and to keep away from malpractice.
Students shouldn’t get anxious, he mentioned in a video assertion.
The NTA will conduct the examination between July 15 and August 20 in several examination centres situated in 500 cities throughout India and ten cities outdoors India.
“Over 14 lakh candidates have registered for the exam, which will be conducted across 500 cities. It is a mammoth task, and NTA is a professional exam conducting body. The students should not get worried,” Kumar mentioned.
He mentioned because the NTA has already issued town intimation slip for candidates of each phases, there isn’t a want for any anxiousness.
“I urge the students not to panic about it because nearly 97 percent to 98 percent of candidates will get their choice of the city, and only about two per cent of candidates may not get their choice of the city, but they will surely get a second choice of their city,” he mentioned.
The NTA had earlier introduced that registered candidates might obtain their admit playing cards and metropolis intimation slips from the official CUET UG web site – cuet.samarth.ac.in.
On Monday, the NTA launched a metropolis intimation slip for registered candidates that gives the title of town by which the candidate must take the CUET-UG together with the date (or dates) of the examination.
This is the primary time NTA is conducting the CUET for admission to undergraduate programmes.
Nearly 14,90,000 candidates have registered for CUET UG 2022, of which 8,10,000 have been allotted Phase I and 6,80,000 have been taken in Phase II of the CUET-UG 2022 examination.
