RAIPUR: Authorities in a number of elements of Chhattisgarh, together with Raipur, have been on Saturday requested to remain alert for flood-like conditions as a consequence of heavy rains since the day gone by.
Bijapur in south Bastar is worst-affected with a number of small rivers and rivulets flooded, resulting in disruption in regular life for folks, an official stated.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has requested district collectors, superintendents of police and concrete our bodies to be on alert in view of cyclonic rains within the state, an official assertion stated.
“The CM has directed them to ensure all disaster management related measures are in place to deal with any situation like water logging and floods,” the official stated.
The launch stated there may be risk of heavy rain in all divisions of the state, besides Surguja, as a consequence of a cyclonic circulation over inside Odisha.
“Bijapur has been witnessing continuous rainfall from two days. State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams and police have been deployed for timely evacuation of people. The district collector and SP visited affected areas,” the official stated.
Meanwhile, 11 members of a household, together with ladies and youngsters, who have been trapped in Jhadigutta village in Kutru space of Bijapur on Friday evening amid heavy rains have been rescued by SDRF and police personnel this morning, he added.
Water from the swollen Mingachal river entered the camps of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) in Mingahcal and Darba villages after which personnel stationed there needed to be shifted to security, the official stated.
The Meteorological Centre Raipur has predicted mild to average rainfall in a number of elements on Sunday and heavy rainfall at one or two locations.
