NZ posts its highest T20 rating to beat Scotland by 102 runs

New Zealand posted its highest-ever T20 rating of 254-5 to beat Scotland by 102 runs of their second Twenty20 worldwide on Friday.

New Zealand received the two-match sequence 2-0.

Reduced to 37-4 at one level, Scotland held out to finish its 20 overs to complete on 152-9 in reply. Chris Greaves top-scored for the hosts with 37 runs off 29 deliveries. He was caught-and-bowled by Ish Sodhi (1-29). Kiwi fast James Neesham took 2-9 in a single over, and spinner Michael Rippon 2-37 in 4 overs.

New Zealand’s earlier greatest rating in cricket’s shortest format was 243-5 in opposition to West Indies in 2018. Afghanistan holds the all-time report with 278-3 in opposition to Ireland in 2019.
