India’s Harjinder Kaur received a bronze medal within the ladies’s 71kg weightlifting occasion within the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Monday, 1 August. “There is no medal without hard work but there was definitely some divine intervention today, not some, but in entirety, I think. Everybody who prayed for me, their prayers have been answered. The main prayers were of my mother and father’s and I think they got an answer from God today,” the teary-eyed athlete mentioned.
Stating that she was not glad together with her efficiency, the athlete indicated that she has way more to her.
“I am happy with the medal, but I was not happy with my performance. I have lifted more weight and the plan was to match that, but I have managed a medal, so, it’s okay I guess,” she mentioned.
“The plan that I came in with, but it did not work out. If I would have put my best foot forward, I could have been in contention for the silver medal,” she additional added.
Asked about her wrestle and her humble household background, she replied that it was her coach that supported her within the journey.
“When I started off in 2016, I did not get any financial support from my family, but I have been morally supported by my family. My coach Paramjeet Sharma helped me out a lot in those days and he had the faith that I would be bringing a medal today, and his faith I think won me my medal,” she accomplished her interview.
