Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday retained all of Shiv Sena’s eight ministers from the earlier Uddhav Thackeray authorities in his new Cabinet. Rebel Sena MLA Tanaji Sawant is a brand new addition within the Cabinet.
Nine leaders from the BJP and 9 from the Sena will take oath as ministers in a ceremony on the Raj Bhavan shortly.
On Tuesday morning, the Chief Minister met Shiv Sena legislators backing him, forward of the growth of his two-member ministry. The assembly befell on the Sahyadri visitor home in south Mumbai.
Shinde is backed by 40 of the 55 Shiv Sena MLAs.
Shinde was sworn in because the chief minister and BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis took oath as deputy CM on June 30.
With the induction of 18 ministers, the energy of the Maharashtra ministry will change into 20, lower than half the utmost allowed energy of 43.
