BAHRAICH: Two youths have been arrested on Saturday for allegedly taking down the Indian Tricolour from a water tank and changing it with inexperienced flags right here, police mentioned on Saturday.
Police mentioned the accused, Aslam (23) and Shahwan (20), have been arrested for insulting the nationwide flag and making an attempt to unfold enmity between two communities.
The residents of Rakhona village had put up two nationwide flags on the federal government water tank situated to commemorate the seventy fifth anniversary of Independence.
On Saturday morning, protesting towards the set up of flags on the tank, the 2 youths eliminated and threw them on the bottom and put up inexperienced flags of their place, Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Ashok Kumar mentioned.
After getting details about the incident, police rushed to the spot and registered a case towards each the accused and arrested them, the extra SP mentioned.
Kharighat police station in-charge Nikhil Srivastava mentioned a case was registered towards the accused on the premise of the grievance of the village head’s brother.
Both have been arrested after the case was filed, police mentioned.
People are hoisting the nationwide flag atop their homes and at different locations to have fun the seventy fifth Independence Day as a part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ marketing campaign.
