The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) on Wednesday mentioned it has imposed a penalty of Rs 1,00,000 on e-commerce participant Flipkart for permitting the sale of substandard home strain cookers on its platform.
Speaking to PTI, CCPA Chief Commissioner Nidhi Khare mentioned a penalty of Rs 1,00,000 has been imposed on Flipkart for permitting the sale of substandard strain cookers on its e-commerce platform and violating the rights of shoppers.
Flipkart has additionally been directed to inform shoppers of all 598 strain cookers bought on its platform, recall the strain cookers and reimburse cash to the shoppers, she mentioned.
The firm has additionally been requested to submit a compliance report of the identical inside 45 days, she added.
