At least 16 individuals died and one other three have been hospitalised after a lorry collided with a stationary minibus in Russia’s Ulyanovsk area on Sunday, native regulation enforcement stated.
“According to preliminary data, the driver of a heavy goods vehicle did not slow down in good time and hit a stationary minibus,” the Ulyanovsk area’s inside ministry stated in an announcement.
Road works on the scene of the incident meant the minibus was ready in a queue to maneuver, it stated. “The minibus was wedged between two lorries,” the ministry stated.
Video footage broadcast by the police confirmed the crumpled husk of what seemed to be a minibus sandwiched between two lorries and emergency service staff later inspecting the flattened automobile.

Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a felony investigation, the TASS information company reported.
TASS quoted a regulation enforcement supply as saying that the lorry driver was amongst these killed.
