LOS ANGELES: The manufacturing on the upcoming Apple TV+ sequence “Lady in the Lake” was halted within the US state of Maryland after the present’s group acquired a risk of violence.
The incident occurred at Park Avenue in Baltimore’s downtown space the place the crew was approached by a bunch of locals at round 4 pm on Friday, reported leisure information outlet Variety.
According to an announcement from the Baltimore Police Department, ‘the locals’ warned the group that they’d “come back later this evening (and) shoot someone” in the event that they did not cease filming.
Afterwards, the group advised the producers that they’d “allow the production to continue” if they’re paid USD 50,000.
The group declined to pay and as a substitute, determined to cease filming till a brand new location was discovered. The producers of the sequence are but to formally touch upon the incident.
Led by Oscar winner Natalie Portman, “Lady in the Lake” is an adaptation of creator Laura Lipman’s 2019 novel and is being directed by filmmaker Alma Har’el of “Honey Boy” fame. Har’el is collaborating with “The Man In The High Castle” author Dre Ryan for the sequence.
The story takes place in Nineteen Sixties Baltimore, the place an unsolved homicide pushes housewife and mom, Maddie Schwartz (Portman), to reinvent her life as an investigative journalist.
It units her on a collision course with Cleo Sherwood, a hard-working girl juggling motherhood, many roles and a passionate dedication to advancing Baltimore’s Black progressive agenda.
“Lady In The Lake”, which hails from Endeavor Content, is produced by Crazyrose and Bad Wolf America.
