Protests throughout Iran over the dying of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini who died after being detained by morality police imposing strict hijab guidelines are taking a lethal flip. According to Iran’s state tv, 41 individuals have been killed and 700 have been arrested for the reason that protests broke out following Amini’s dying on September 16.

The protests are raging regardless of a warning of stern motion by President Ebrahim Raisi-led authorities. Judiciary chief, Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, on Sunday, emphasised “the need for decisive action without leniency” against the core instigators of the “riots”, the judiciary’s Mizan Online website said.

Ever since the protests started, social media has been flooded with images and visuals of women burning their headscarves and chopping off their hair.
