By India Today Web Desk: Qatari soccer followers hit again at Germany’s mouth-covering gesture by holding footage of former Germany participant Mesut Ozil in protests in the course of the FIFA World Cup 2022 match towards Spain. A bunch of followers held copies of a hand-drawn sketch of Ozil, whereas others displayed photographs of him in motion for Germany.
The clearly coordinated show was apparently in response to Germany’s gesture on Wednesday after they coated their mouths in protest of FIFA’s clampdown on the “One Love” armband. This was in response to FIFA successfully canceling seven European groups’ plans to put on armbands in a rebuke to host nation Qatar and its human rights document.
Qatari followers seemed to be referring to Germany’s questionable remedy of Ozil, the previous participant who stop the nationwide group after turning into a goal of racist abuse and a scapegoat for Germany’s early World Cup exit in 2018.
