NEW DELHI: Amid an increase in Covid instances in some nations, Serum Institute of India has began provide of Covishield to the Centre freed from value with the primary lot of 80 lakh doses set to be dispatched from Saturday, official sources stated.
Since the launch of the anti-Covid vaccination drive, SII has up to now offered 170 crore doses of Covishield to the federal government.
According to an official supply, Prakash Kumar Singh, Director Government and Regulatory Affairs at Serum Institute of India, had written to Union Health Ministry mentioning that the Pune-based agency will present two crore doses of Covishield vaccine price Rs 410 crore to the Government of India freed from value.
The Health Ministry has issued a consignee listing for the availability of 80 lakh doses of Covishield which shall be equipped by the corporate Saturday, an official supply stated.
