By India Today Web Desk: Former India captain Mohammed Azharuddin congratulated Sania Mirza on her stellar tennis profession after the Indian star completed her Grand Slam profession as runners-up within the blended doubles last of the Australian Open 2023. Azharuddin took to social media to pay tribute to Sania, saying that the Hyderabad-born tennis star paved the trail for a lot of aspiring sportswomen internationally.
Mirza will finish her profession with six Grand Slam titles after failing to win the Australian Open blended doubles trophy with compatriot Rohan Bopanna on Friday. “Rohan was my first-ever mixed doubles partner when I was 14 and we won the nationals, it was 22 year ago and I couldn’t think of a better person, he’s my best friend and one of my best partners to finish my career,” Sania mentioned, thanking Bopanna, who has one French Open blended doubles title to his credit score.
