DEHRADUN: Nearly a month after the pure calamity of land submergence that broken over 800 homes and business institutions within the historic metropolis of Joshimath, the federal government has proposed three choices for rehabilitation and displacement of disaster-affected individuals.
The state authorities has ready a plan for the disaster-affected individuals with the choice of one-time settlement in lieu of injury to land and buildings, in addition to the choice of home and land as an alternative of land. On the options of the committee shaped on the district degree, the High Powered Committee (HPC) headed by Additional Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan has given its in-principle consent on all three choices. The disaster-affected can select any one in every of these choices.
The three choices have been accepted after discussing the proposals made by District Magistrate Chamoli Himanshu Khurana at a gathering of the HPC chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan on the state secretariat on Monday. Giving particulars of the assembly, Secretary Disaster Management Dr Ranjit Kumar Sinha stated, “Joshimath disaster affected people can choose any one of the three options themselves”, including, “Compensation for land will be decided on the basis of circle rate, the decision on new circle rate will be taken in the next cabinet meeting”.
“Compensation for buildings shall be given as per the prescribed requirements of the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), giant resorts shall be given full compensation, whereas small outlets and resorts (dhabas) will be given two choices.
As a primary choice, small shopkeepers and dhaba operators will be capable of take full compensation concurrently. Dr Sinha stated. As a second choice, a store shall be allotted in 15 sq. meters on the displaced website.
“After receiving the final report of the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), it will be decided how many buildings will be removed and how many will be retrofitted,” added Dr Sinha.
SETTLEMENT OPTIONS:
Option One: First of all, disaster-affected individuals have been given the choice of a one-time settlement. Under this, the affected land constructing house owners shall be paid full monetary help for the broken constructing and land inside one time beneath the prescribed requirements as compensation.
