Ranji Trophy 2023: Mayank Agarwal, Sudip Kumar Gharami and Anustup Majumdar scored a whole bunch in Day 1 of their workforce’s semi-final matches on Wednesday

By India Today Web Desk: towards Saurashtra with their rating at 229 for the lack of 5 wickets on the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

After being put in to bat first, Karnataka discovered themselves in hassle after being decreased to 112 for the lack of 5 wickets in 40.3 overs. From there on, Mayank took cost and stayed unbeaten on 110 off 246 balls with the assistance of 11 fours and one six.

Mayank and Srinivas Sharath placed on an unbeaten partnership of 117 runs for the sixth wicket off 46.3 overs. Sharath stayed not out on 58 off 143 with the assistance of 4 fours.

Ravikumar Samarth, Devdutt Padikkal and Manish Pandey did not get into single digits. Kushang Patel picked up two wickets for Saurashtra.

In the opposite semi-final, Bengal completed Day 1 with their rating at 307 for the lack of 4 wickets towards Madhya Pradesh on the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. After a 51-run stand opening stand between Abhimanyu Easwaran and Karan Lal, each batters perished.

But Sudip Kumar Gharami and Anustup Majumdar placed on 241 runs for the third wicket to place Bengal in a commanding place. Both yet one more time, Bengal misplaced two wickets in fast succession.

Even as Gharami scored 112 with 12 fours and two sixes, Majumdar notched 120 runs with 13 fours and a six. Manoj Tiwary and Shahbaz Ahmed had been the 2 in a single day batters.
