Turkey and Syria had been hit by 5 lethal earthquakes in fast succession, creating havoc within the metropolis and killing over 21,000 folks. Adding to the devastation, the small northwest Syrian city of Al-Tloul close to the Turkish-Syrian border was devastated by floods, leaving virtually all of its inhabitants homeless.
