West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asserted on Monday that she had recommended ATK Mohunbagan and the Director of RPSG group to take away the “ATK” label from Mohun Bagan.

By Anirban Sinha Roy: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated on Monday that she had recommended ATK Mohunbagan and the Director of RPSG group to take away the ATK prefix and identify the membership Mohun Bagan, the Kolkata soccer large that gained the Indian Super League (ISL) title on Sunday by defeating Bengaluru FC within the closing.
Sanjiv Goenka, the principal membership proprietor and Chairman of RPSG Group, introduced after the victory that ATK Mohun Bagan might be renamed Mohun Bagan Super Giants on the finish of the present 2022-23 season.
“I have asked them earlier to remove ATK. It doesn’t looks nice before the iconic club name Mohun Bagan.Mohun Bagan has done it well in ISL. Sanjeev Goenka is rich He has money. He builds the team very well. This is not ATK Mohunbagan. It is Mohun Bagan. And I will say Moiunbagan is the champion. I don’t like ATK. Mohunbagan is Mohunbagan. It is an iconic club. This club has played and won against Britishers and Gorkhas,” Mamata stated whereas addressing an occasion on the tent of the long-lasting membership, organised to felicitate the members of the ISL champion workforce.
Banerjee additionally introduced a Rs 50 lakh one-time state authorities grant for the membership’s growth.
“To make the supporters of Mohun Bagan club happy and to have sweets and for the development of Mohun Bagan club I am granting 50 Lakh rupees. I will ask Sports Minister Aroop Biswas to grant the amount as soon as possible to Mohun Bagan club. All the players really you are excellent, you are great. You have created history,” Mamata added.
