Earthquake of 6.6 magnitude jolts Afghanistan

An enormous earthquake of magnitude 6.6 on the Richter scale hit Afghanistan on Tuesday night, based on the National Center of Seismology (NCS).

By India Today World Desk: An enormous earthquake of magnitude 6.6 on the Richter scale hit Afghanistan on Tuesday night, based on the National Center of Seismology (NCS).

The earthquake hit at round 10.17 pm and had a depth of 156 km.

The NCS took to Twitter and wrote, “Earthquake of Magnitude:6.6, Occurred on 21-03-2023, 22:17:27 IST, Lat: 36.09 & Long: 71.35, Depth: 156 Km ,Location: 133km SSE of Fayzabad, Afghanistan.”

According to the United States Geological Survey, the epicenter of the quake was in Afghanistan’s Jurm.

Tremors lasting a number of seconds had been felt in Delhi-NCR and different elements of North India because the robust earthquake struck Afghanistan.

Initial experiences acknowledged that tremors had been additionally felt in elements of Pakistan, together with Islamabad and Lahore.
