By India Today Sports Desk: Former India cricketer RP Singh expressed his concern about KL Rahul’s performances throughout the IPL 2023, saying that the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain gave the impression to be caught and beneath stress.
Rahul hit 39 runs off 32 balls in direction of Rajasthan Royals. The LSG captain not at all obtained the going as he struggled to realize runs shortly on the excessive of the order. While Rahul, in his defence, talked about that the Jaipur pitch was not 180 pitch, RP Singh recognized that Rahul is not able to find gaps in his footage.
“KL Rahul never used to play like this, he used to always have a good strike rate, take the attack to the opposition and play good shots, but here he seemed to be stuck and under pressure,” RP said on JioCinema.
RP Singh suggested Rahul take “calculative risks” as his form is not an issue.
“I might be wrong, but he is probably thinking that his form might return after playing a big innings. His form is not bad, he is still playing his shots, but he is not being able to find those gaps in his shots, he should take those calculative risks which he is not taking,” RP talked about.
While LSG beat RR by 10 runs, former India head coach Ravi Shastri refused to buy Rahul’s analysis of the pitch and highlighted that he should get his strike up.
“Absolutely (needs to get the strike up). All that talk about 160, I don’t buy it. When you have two chances, if you convert that 39 to 60 or 70, 160 becomes 175. You need someone in the top 3 to carry on and play that long innings,” Ravi Shastri suggested Star Sports.
