T he M.Okay. Stalin-led Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) authorities is striving to offer the state’s temples a makeover and, inside the low cost, give itself one too. An huge renovation plan is afoot for Hindu shrines, along with the retrieval of encroached land. The state’s Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) division, which oversees temple administration in Tamil Nadu, has been issuing eviction notices thick and fast. Budgetary allocations for conservation and creating pilgrim services have gone up manifold before now two years.
