By Sahidul Hasan Khokon: A journalist was attacked by unknown assailants in Bangladesh’s Jamalpur district on Wednesday when he was returning residence from work. The 45-year-old journalist, Golam Rabbani Nadeem, was the Jamalpur district correspondent of BanglaNews and the Bakshiganj upazila correspondent of Ekattor TV. He died this afternoon on the Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital.
The sub-inspector of police on the Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital’s Police Camp, Rafiqul Islam, stated that Nadeem was dropped at the hospital round 11 am at the moment and he died throughout therapy round 3 pm.
Nadeem was critically injured within the assault in Jamalpur’s Pathati space round 10 pm on Wednesday, one other police official, Sohel Rana, stated. A bunch of round 12 folks attacked him whereas he was returning residence from work, he added.

Local journalists and passers-by rescued him and took him to the Bakshiganj Upazila Health Complex. Late within the evening, he was shifted to the Jamalpur General Hospital, from the place he was despatched to the Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital this morning as his situation deteriorated.
Nadeem’s son, Abdullah Al Mamun Rifat, claimed that his father was attacked by Sadhurpara Union Parishad chairman Mahmudul Alam Babu’s males over a information article. However, Mahmudul Alam Babu has denied all allegations, saying he had no enmity with Nadeem and that he wasn’t concerned within the assault.
Nadeem’s spouse Monira Begum demanded that the attackers be dropped at justice on the earliest.
Earlier, Nadeem was attacked on April 11. His household and native journalists then claimed that the assault was over a narrative he had reported on.
