Vigilance arrests Block Veterinary Officer over bribery prices

Berhampur: Odisha Vigilance at this time apprehended Dr Rabinarayan Sahu, the Block Veterinary Officer (BVO) of Aska block in Ganjam district whereas demanding and accepting bribe.

The Vigilance officers arrested Sahu whereas he was taking a bribe of Rs 9,000 from a Complainant (proprietor of a Bolero Vehicle) for processing the file for continuation of engagement of his automobile as MVU (Mobile Veterinary Unit) below Chief District Veterinary Office (CDVO) in Chatrapur for the monetary 12 months 2023-24, abiding the phrases and circumstances of earlier  contract.

The Vigilance officers recovered the complete bribe cash from Dr Sahu and seized.

Following the entice, simultaneous searches are occurring at 3 areas of Dr. Sahu from disproportionate belongings (DA) angle.

In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance P.S. Case No. 07/23 U/s 7 P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress in opposition to accused Dr Sahu. Detailed report follows.
