Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has revealed that he was approached first by the England Cricket Board (ECB) to take over the teaching function earlier than Brendon McCullum took the job.
Ponting stated he obtained the decision from Rob Key, who took over because the ECB’s director of males’s cricket in April 2022, concerning the emptiness, however he turned it down.
