WI vs IND: Suryakumar Yadav’s choice in India’s ODI squad was fairly stunning, says Kamran Akmal

By India Today Sports Desk: Former Pakistan wicket-keeping batter Kamran Akmal has stated that Suryakumar Yadav’s choice within the Indian ODI squad has been fairly stunning. India introduced the Test and ODI squads for his or her upcoming tour of the West Indies.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Akmal stated he was fairly stunned by Suryakumar’s inclusion within the ODI squad for the West Indies tour. Suryakumar was the main run-scorer of the Mumbai Indians within the 2023 Indian Premier League, hitting 605 runs in 16 matches, at a median of 43.21 whereas placing at 181.14.

“Suryakumar Yadav’s selection in India’s ODI squad was quite surprising. He has had a lot of opportunities. He is getting so many chances because India want to ensure that if some of their injured players don’t get fit before the World Cup, they still have someone who has scored big runs in T20s,” stated Akmal.

“Rinku Singh played many match-winning knocks for KKR in this IPL. I believe that he should surely be a part of India’s T20I squad. He deserves to be a part of the national team,” Akmal added.
