‘We’ll be extra aggressive and extra entertaining’: James Anderson’s warning to Australia forward of Lord’ Test

James Anderson has backed “Bazball” and believes England will proceed to play their aggressive model of cricket within the ongoing Ashes sequence regardless of dropping the opening Test.

England misplaced the opening Test by two wickets and took 1-0 lead within the sequence. The second Test will begin from Wednesday at Lord’s.

“I think we’ll go more positive, more aggressive, more entertaining,” Anderson was talking on the London Stadium the place he threw out the ceremonial first pitch within the baseball sport between the Chicago Cubs and St Louis Cardinals.

“We need to attempt and ensure folks go dwelling completely satisfied as they did every day at Edgbaston.

“Just because we’re 1-0 down I don’t think we’ll try anything different. I think we showed enough last week to show we can win the next four if we keep playing like that and iron a few things out. We’ll go exactly the same.”

Anderson feels cricket can study quite a bit from baseball, particularly relating to extra aggressive hitting.

“I think you see the way cricket has developed, the way guys try to hit the ball, I think they take a lot from the guys here,” he stated.

“I don’t understand how a lot data there’s about cricket in America, I don’t assume the baseball gamers try to dam something, however for me I’ve all the time watched the fielding and thought it was one thing we may do higher.

“The speed they get to the ball, the speed they release the ball and the speed of the throw. I know it’s a different ball but I think it’s something we could learn from,” he stated.
