Visakhapatnam is headed for a brand new tryst with future. The metropolis—which has developed extra by chance than by design, wedged between the Bay of Bengal and hills on the opposite facet—was declared the brand new capital this January as a part of the state authorities’s tri-capital plan. Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy introduced in March that Visakhapatnam would be the executive capital of Andhra Pradesh from September, with the state’s administration shifting its headquarters from Amaravati, which serves as the present capital. On July 11, the Supreme Court delay the listening to in opposition to the tri-capital plan till December, which can power the CM to defer his strikes to early 2024.
