The United States has mentioned it was ‘deeply involved about allegations referenced by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’, over the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
In a press release, White House National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson mentioned, “We are deeply concerned about the allegations referenced by Prime Minister Trudeau.”
“We remain in regular contact with our Canadian partners. It is critical that Canada’s investigation proceed and the perpetrators be brought to justice,” the Canadian press quoted him as saying.
On Monday, in a speech to the House of Commons, Trudeau mentioned, “Canadian security agencies have been actively pursuing credible allegations of a potential link between agents of the Government of India and the killing of a Canadian citizen, Hardeep Singh Nijjar.”
Reacting sharply to Trudeau’s allegations, India on Tuesday described them as “absurd” and “motivated”.
Meanwhile, Canada expelled an Indian diplomat because it was investigating Trudeau’s claims within the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Hardeep Singh Nijjar, 45, the chief of the banned Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) and one in all India’s most-wanted terrorists who carried a money reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head, was shot lifeless by two unidentified gunmen exterior a gurdwara in Surrey within the western Canadian province of British Columbia.
Canada-based Nijjar was designated a ‘terrorist’ by India beneath the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in July 2020 and his property within the nation was connected by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in September 2020.
