This time on the occasion of Holi, the state government will provide free LPG gas cylinders to crores of people of the state. To avail the benefits of free gas cylinder during the festive season, it is necessary for the beneficiary woman's account to be linked to Aadhaar. If the account is not linked to Aadhaar, then get it linked immediately so that it becomes easier for you to get the benefit of free gas cylinder during the festive season.
Let us tell you that in the month of November last year, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had started the free LPG cylinder refill distribution campaign under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana for 1.75 crore eligible families of the state. The government plans to give free LPG cylinders twice a year – on the occasion of Diwali and Holi. Under this scheme, LPG cylinders were given on the occasion of Diwali in the month of November. Now beneficiaries will get this gift in Holi also. The state government is spending Rs 2,312 crore on this campaign.
What is Ujjwala scheme?
It is noteworthy that in the year 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started the Ujjwala scheme. Under this scheme, more than 9 crore people have been given free LPG connections. In this scheme the government gives a subsidy of Rs 300 per cylinder. Earlier this subsidy was of Rs 200, which was increased by additional Rs 100 only last year. The beneficiary class gets this subsidy for 12 LPG cylinders in a year.
