Home Ministry strict after Kolkata rape case: Said- all states should send law and order report to the center every 2 hours, notification issued

New Delhi. The Union Home Ministry (MHA) has issued a notification in the case of rape and murder of a junior doctor of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The Home Ministry has ordered all states and union territories to send a report on the law and order situation to the Center every two hours through email, fax or WhatsApp.

In a message sent by Home Ministry’s control room officer Mohan Chandra Pandit, it was said that the Union Home Ministry has taken this step to keep an eye on security and not let things go out of control.

Hours before the Home Ministry’s directive, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention in the rape and murder case of a 31-year-old junior doctor at a government hospital in Kolkata.
