In the first week of September, the Aviation Minister will virtually inaugurate the DG Yatra machines installed at three locations at the airport. After the machines are installed, their trials are being conducted.
Naiduniya Representative, Indore. Indore Airport is going to be included in those selected airports of the country, where passengers will be able to enter without any hindrance by showing their face. DG Yatra is going to start at the airport in the first week of September.
Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ramamohan Naidu will virtually launch DG Yatra. After the DG Yatra machines are installed, its trials are being conducted.
The work of installing DG Yatra machines at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport began three months ago. After the training of skilled employees to operate the machines is complete, its trials are now being conducted. Three hundred passengers are being given entry every day.
Machines installed at three locations
Computerized machines have been installed at three places in the airport. These machines have been installed at the main gate, security check area and boarding area. Two machines have been placed at each place, so that passengers can enter comfortably by showing their face on any machine.
Passengers’ time will be saved
Passengers arriving at the airport have to show documents at many places from entering the terminal to boarding. Now with the start of DG Yatra, there will be no need to show documents. DG Yatra will also have a separate gate. Passengers will be able to board in less time. The technology of DG Yatra works on Facial Recognition Technology (FRT) and entry is given by recognizing the face by machines.
This is how the app will work
Digi Yatra app has to be downloaded from Google Play Store or iOS App Store. After downloading the app, the passenger will have to share details like name, email address, mobile number and identity document (Aadhaar, driving license, voter ID, passport) etc. After entering this information, Digi Yatra ID will be created.
Passengers will have to share this while booking tickets. Airlines will share the ID and passenger data with the airport. Entry will be granted after scanning the face at the airport. There will be no need to show documents.
Most flights on Delhi and Mumbai route
Regular flights are being operated from Indore Airport to ten states and three union territories. Most of the flights are operated from Indore to Delhi and Mumbai route.
The maximum number of 19 flights are being operated on Indore to Delhi route, whereas 12 flights are operated on Mumbai route.
Five flights are being operated on Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Bengaluru and Hyderabad routes. There are four flights to Raipur and three to Chandigarh. In Madhya Pradesh, currently, flights are operated from Indore only to Jabalpur.
