New Liquor Policy Details: Andhra Pradesh government has taken an important decision for liquor lovers. As part of the election promise, the state government has tried to ensure availability of liquor at low prices. A 180 ml liquor bottle (Pavva) of all brands in the state will now be available at a uniform price of Rs 99.
The State Prohibition and Excise Department has confirmed this scheme. Deputy Director Nishant Kumar said that the stock in retail shops is being increased gradually. He said that low priced liquor has been supplied to all the shops and its quantity will be doubled in the next few days.

Under this scheme, paves of five major brands like Sumo Classic Whiskey, Royal Lancer Whiskey, Tropicana Brandy, Shot Whiskey and Kerala Malted Fine Whiskey will be available for Rs 99.

Kumar said that around 10,000 boxes of liquor priced at Rs 99 have reached the market. By next Monday the daily supply will reach 20,000 boxes. There is a plan to provide about 2.4 lakh cases of liquor in the shops in the next fortnight, so that the supply can be expedited.
There is a plan to make available about 1.2 crore quarter bottles worth Rs 99 in the market by the end of November. Kumar said that they will assess the sales in the current fortnight and based on that will decide on the import of stock. He told that the purchase of quarter bottles will be increased according to the consumption.
