Navdunia Representative, Sagar. On Tuesday, the Sagar Lokayukta team arrested the assistant to the estate officer red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 at the Housing Board office in Makronia. The accused had demanded bribe in exchange for getting the house allotted to the complainant in his wife’s name. A case has been registered against the accused and investigation is being done.
According to the information, 39-year-old Yashwant father Kanhaiya Lal Vishwakarma, resident of Kabir Ward of Khurai, had taken an EWS house from Madhya Pradesh Housing Board in the year 2022, for which he was also paying the installments. Further process had to be done for registration. He wanted to get his wife’s name added to the allotted house, in return for which a bribe of Rs 20,000 was demanded by Assistant Office Estate Officer Brijesh Nayak. Called him two-four times between the last installment of 25th October 2023, but the registration was not happening.
Yashwant complained about this in the Lokayukta office, after which after making the outline, Yashwant went to the Housing Board office in Makronia on Monday and after discussing with the senior officer there, the matter was settled for Rs 16 thousand to Brijesh Nayak. The second day on Tuesday, Yashwant reached the Housing Board office in Makronia. Where in the afternoon he gave Rs 10 thousand out of Rs 16 thousand to Brijesh Nayak, the Assistant Office Estate Officer posted in the office. Which Brijesh Nayak kept with himself. Then the Lokayukta team present outside the office raided and caught Brijesh Nayak. When he was searched, bribe money was found with him.
Under the leadership of Lokayukta DSP BM Dwivedi, Inspector Abhishek Verma and other police personnel have taken complete action and registered a case against Brijesh Nayak.
