Jharkhand News: Alka Tiwari becomes the new Chief Secretary of Jharkhand, know who is this woman IAS

Ranchi. Jharkhand government has appointed senior IAS officer Alka Tiwari as the new Chief Secretary of the state. Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar has confirmed this appointment and the Personnel Department has also issued an official notification regarding this. Alka Tiwari is a 1988 batch IAS officer and her retirement date is 30 September 2025. It is noteworthy that L Khyangte, who held the post of Chief Secretary for about 11 months, had retired on October 31. The state government had sent a proposal to the Election Commission to give him an extension of three months, but no order came on this.

Got the responsibility after the retirement of L Khyangte

After the retirement of L Khyangte, Alka Tiwari has been given the important responsibility of Chief Secretary on the basis of seniority. Alka Tiwari recently returned to Jharkhand after being relieved from central deputation and being the senior most among the Additional Chief Secretaries of the state, she was selected for this post.

Who is IAS Alka Tiwari?

Alka Tiwari is a 1988 batch IAS officer, whose work experience is quite extensive. She has worked as Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. Apart from this, she has also served as Secretary in the Tribal Commission.
