The celebration of India’s Asia Cup 2025 win continues, but the team is still without their trophy, a situation that has persisted for 34 days. The championship silverware is currently with ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi, prompting the BCCI to seek its immediate return. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia acknowledged the delay and confirmed that a formal letter was dispatched to Naqvi roughly ten days ago, but there has been no change in the situation.

Following the final, the Indian contingent reportedly did not accept the trophy from Naqvi, who also holds the position of Pakistan Cricket Board chairman. This led to the trophy remaining in ACC’s possession, with Naqvi suggesting it could be collected from their Dubai office. He also conveyed his personal wish to present the trophy himself.

Saikia anticipates that the trophy will be sent to Mumbai shortly, possibly within the next couple of days. He also stated that the BCCI is prepared to bring the matter before the International Cricket Council (ICC) at their upcoming meeting if the trophy isn’t handed over soon. The BCCI official expressed confidence that the trophy would ultimately reach India, emphasizing that all records confirm India’s rightful championship status, with only the physical trophy outstanding.
