The workload of railway track pointman is increasing. 233 km long third railway line started. The problem is increasing due to lack of creation of new posts.
Navdunia Representative, Bhopal. On one hand, attempts have been made to derail trains at different places in the country in the last three months. In such a situation, detonators and gas cylinders were found on the railway track. More than eight such incidents have come to light in Railways.
The posts of pointmen monitoring the railway tracks are not being filled accordingly. A large number of posts of Pointman 400 (Trackman) are vacant in Bhopal Railway Division itself. In such a situation, the existing pointman has to do more work. Apart from this, other safety category posts are vacant. Railways has started the third line in Bhopal division. But new posts have not been created. In such a situation, the workload of pointmen of other lines has also increased.
233 km long third railway line started
Working towards increasing the convenience of passengers and speed of trains, the Railways has completed the construction work of 233 km long third railway line between Bina to Bhopal and Bhopal to Itarsi. Besides, rail traffic has also been started on most of the sections. But to ensure proper monitoring of the railway line, the Railways did not create new posts of pointmen.

Approximately 400 posts of trackmen are vacant in Bhopal Railway Division. A memorandum has been given by the West Central Railway Employees Union to the Railway Board Chairman (CRB), who is visiting Bhopal division, regarding this matter. There is a demand for recruitment as soon as possible.
