Ranchi. Chief Electoral Officer Mr. K Ravi Kumar has said that the 45 Ghatshila by-election has concluded peacefully. Voting has been completed on time at 300 polling stations in the by-election. No untoward incident has been reported from any location. Mr. K Ravi Kumar was addressing the media on Tuesday after the conclusion of the 45 Ghatshila by-election from the Election House.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that two FIRs have been filed today for MCC and other violations. One of them is regarding the violation of the secrecy of the vote in a social media post, and the second is regarding moving around with some money on the day of polling. These have been filed as two separate cases.

Mr. K. Ravi Kumar said that two MCC cases were filed earlier. A total of four MCC cases have been filed in the Ghatshila by-election so far. The first two cases involved moving around with a licensed arm during the election period and issuing some objectionable messages using AI.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that all polling parties except for three polling stations will return by evening today. Due to the interior location of these 3 polling stations, these polling parties will return tomorrow morning. Permission for this was obtained in advance from the Election Commission of India, and all arrangements have been made in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. All candidates have also been informed about this.

Mr. K. Ravi Kumar said that the voting percentage is 73.88% as of 5:00 PM. The data will be updated after the final poll count, end of poll, and scrutiny. Counting is scheduled for November 14.

On this occasion, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Subodh Kumar and officials from the Chief Electoral Officer’s office were present.
