Suresh Partagiri, Bijapur. Inspired by the impact of the government’s important ‘Niyad Nella Naar’ scheme, five Maoists have decided to give up the path of violence by surrendering before the police. A Maoist carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh is also included among those who surrendered. It is being told that all these Maoists have been involved in violent incidents like firing, ID blasts and arson.

All five Maoists surrendered in the presence of CRPF DIG Devendra Singh Negi, Superintendent of Police Dr Jitendra Yadav, DSP Sudeep Sarkar, DSP Dinesh Sinha and other senior officers. The surrendered Maoists have been given a cash incentive of Rs 25,000 each by the police. So far in the year 2024, a total of 185 Maoists have surrendered before the police, while 411 Maoists have been arrested.
