Gangster Hyder’s Escape Reignites Fear In Slain Mine Owner’s Family | OTV News

Cuttack: The fleeing of dreaded gangster Sheikh Hyder from SCB Medical College and Hospital has triggered alarm among the many members of the family of deceased mine proprietor Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra.
As the police have didn’t hint the gangster to this point, the household of the Keonjhar-based dealer whose kidnap and subsequent homicide led to life imprisonment of the gangster reside beneath apprehension.
On May 27, 2007, Mohapatra was kidnapped from Bhubaneswar alongside together with his driver. Per week later, their charred our bodies have been discovered by Jharkhand Police
Hyder had allegedly kidnapped the Mohapatra and demanded Rs 2 crore ransom for his launch. Though the members of the family had paid Rs 1 crore for his launch, Hyder and his associates brutally killed Mohapatra and his driver.
Eight years later in 2015, a court docket in Bhubaneswar convicted Hyder and two others beneath Section 264(A) of the Indian Penal Code and handed them imprisonment for all times.
“After a lot of efforts by the police, Hyder and other involved in the kidnapping and murder were arrested. As we learnt about his escape, we fear threat to our lives. He is also a threat to others,” stated Dilip Behera, a relative of deceased mine proprietor Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra.
“The lapses and negligence by the police is condemnable. We urge the government and police to provide us security and arrest the gangster at the earliest,” he added.
