Days after West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar wrote to Mamata Banerjee complaining about her “studied silence” on instances of post-election violence within the state, the chief minister Thursday focused the Central authorities saying there may be “no political violence” wherever in Bengal and that it’s all “BJP’s gimmick.”
She asserted that the claims made have been utterly “baseless”.
“There is no political violence going on in the state right now. There may have been one or two sporadic incidents, but those can’t be labelled as incidents of political violence,” she added.
The governor’s remarks got here a day after a delegation of BJP MLAs led by Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari met him to debate the alleged deterioration of legislation and order within the state. Meanwhile, Dhakar is presently in Delhi and can return on June 18.
