A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel imposed a value of Rs 10 lakh on the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) which allowed development and alteration of stormwater drain passing via the undertaking website illegally. The order got here on a petition filed by Bengaluru resident H P Rajanna towards the undertaking Godrej Reflections being constructed at Kasavanahalli village.
The tribunal mentioned the penalty shall be utilised by making ready a restoration plan by the mentioned authority with the help of the BBMP, state and central air pollution management boards. Restoration plan shall be executed by the state wetland authority and BBMP which can be overseen by the air pollution management boards, the tribunal mentioned.
