Share/Stock Market Highlights: The frontline fairness indices on the BSE and National Stock Exchange ended with marginal good points on Tuesday.
The S&P BSE Sensex rose 69.33 factors (0.12 per cent) to finish at 58,247.09, whereas the Nifty 50 inched up 24.70 factors (0.14 per cent) to settle at 17,380.00. Earlier within the day, the Nifty had hit a recent lifetime excessive of 17,438.55.
IndusInd Bank, HCL Technologies, Bajaj Auto, Tech Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Kotak Mahindra Bank have been the highest good points on the Sensex pack whereas Nestle India, Ultratech Cement, Hindustan Unilever (HUL), Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC), Tata Steel, Bajaj Finserv have been the highest laggards.
Among the sectoral indices, the Nifty Media index was the highest gainer of the day surging 14.40 per cent increased led by a 40 per cent rally in Zee Entertainment Enterprises. This aside, the Nifty Private Bank index gained 1.03 per cent led by Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank and IDFC First Bank.
In the broader market, the S&P BSE MidCap ended at 25,053.67, up 270.22 factors (1.09 per cent) whereas the S&P BSE SmallCap settled at 28,042.45, up 176.31 factors (0.63 per cent).
