Pakistan’s capital Islamabad and its twin metropolis Rawalpindi are in a state of shock, after a 22-year-old scholar was shot useless by trigger-happy policemen, who opened heavy hearth on his automotive for allegedly not stopping on their name.
Usama Nadeem Satti, who was going residence after dropping his cousin on the National University of Science & Technology (NUST) in Sector H-11 Islamabad, was intercepted by a minimum of 5 personnel of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS). As per preliminary investigation by the police authorities, the innocence of the deceased scholar has been confirmed, whereas it was said that the police officers had been at fault as they didn’t go for different methods to cease the automotive.
However, the police authorities had their very own model of the incident.
“The police received an emergency call from a resident of Shams Colony. The caller informed the police that about four armed robbers entered his house, held the family members at gunpoint, looted valuables and sped away on a white car. In the meanwhile, a white Suzuki car appeared from the same side and the ATS signalled to stop it, but the driver did not stop and preferred to run away,” police stated of their early assertion.
However, the autopsy report revealed that the police officers shot 22 bullets on the automotive from the bottom as a substitute of aiming at its tyres.
“The law will take its course and all involved would be proceeded against,” a police spokesman quoted the Inspector General of Police as saying.
On the opposite hand, the scholar’s father stated that his son was shot a number of instances by the police.
“My son was shot multiple times. The anti-terror squad openly committed terrorism by aiming at the windscreen instead of the tires,” he stated.
“I demand that the personnel involved be charged with terrorism,” he added.
