An Indian-origin CEO of a US-based homeownership firm has abruptly fired greater than 900 workers, about 9 per cent of its workforce, on a Zoom webinar, citing market effectivity, efficiency and productiveness as the explanations behind the transfer.
On a Zoom webinar final Wednesday, Better.com CEO Vishal Garg abruptly introduced that the mortgage firm is shedding about 9 per cent of its workforce, CNN reported.
Garg cited market effectivity, efficiency and productiveness as the rationale behind the firings, the report stated.
“If you’re on this call, you are part of the unlucky group that is being laid off,” he stated on the decision.
“Your employment here is terminated effective immediately,” Garg stated.
