ALAPPUZHA: The demand to assemble a rail overbridge at Cherthala city connecting numerous wards of the municipality is getting louder by the day. According to councillor M A Saju, the folks of the municipality residing on the western aspect of the rail line endure a lot as a result of absence of RoBs.
“The coastal rail line has divided the municipality into two components and the folks residing on the western aspect of the road depend upon the railway gates to succeed in the city. Four railways gates at Arthunkal, Hilltop, Vallayil, and Anjilipalam, are located inside of two km from Cherthala railway station.
The folks residing between Arthunkal and Thaikkal must cross the railway gate to go to Cherthala city, market, banks, municipal workplaces, taluk workplace, or any workplace,” Saju defined. In addition, seven hospitals are additionally located on the east of the rail line creating hardships.
“The Railways is planning to construct around 150 RoBs in the state to reduce traffic problems. So they should consider Cherthala railway gates and construct at least two RoBs in the municipality,” he mentioned.
