MUMBAI: Private provider Go First on Friday stated it has operated first evacuation flight to New Delhi from Budapest in Hungary to convey again 177 Indian evacuees from war-hit Ukraine.
The city-based airline additionally stated it’ll function two flights each until March 10 as a part of the Operation Ganga mission.
The first evacuation flight of Go First from Budapest departed at 5.58 pm (native time) on Thursday and arrived in New Delhi at 9.20 am (native time) on Friday with 177 passengers onboard, the airline stated in an announcement.
For the evacuation, the flight had departed from New Delhi at 10:30 am (native time) on Thursday and landed at Budapest by way of Kuwait at 4 am (native time), it stated.
“This is a large humanitarian disaster. Go First will assist Indians with many extra evacuation flights which can be required to assist Indians return to their family members.
“The airline has always been at the forefront and stands committed to providing our services during a crisis situation for helping our fellow citizens when they need it the most,” stated Go First CEO Kaushik Khona.
The city-based airline stated it’ll additionally endeavour to supply any further flights because the Ministry of External Affairs might require.
Ukraine’s airspace has been closed since February 24 and India is evacuating its residents by particular flights from the jap European nation’s western neighbours like Romania, Hungary and Poland.
